Elect Paul Tubbs to Assembly
Over thirty years ago I moved to Rhinelander to serve the community as a guidance counselor for the Rhinelander School District. Since I retired in 2003, I have continued to be active as a Board Member of the Town of Pelican Community Club, the Rhinelander School Board (2004-2007) and other various regional and local organizations. I did not seek re-election to the school board because I saw the need to focus my efforts on bringing more effective representation to our 34th Assembly District (Oneida and Vilas Counties).
We need to elect an independent voice for the Northwoods to the Wisconsin State Assembly in Madison.
The citizens of the 34th Assembly District deserve a strong advocate for the needs of the North. These needs have been expressed to me as I listened to voters throughout the district.
Here are some of the things I heard:
 |
Strong advocacy for programs to protect our environment (especially programs to control invasive species) because both our quality of life and our livelihoods depend on it. |
 |
Strong advocacy to pass legislation that returns our fair share of sales and income taxes to the area and thus reduces the property tax burden. |
 |
Strong advocacy for a program of health care that covers all citizens. |
 |
Strong advocacy for a fair state school funding formula so we can maintain excellent schools without constantly relying on the local property taxes and more importantly so our children can be successful. |

I'm looking forward to having more conversations with you at my listening sessions as your representative for the Wisconsin 34th Assembly District, but I can't do it without your help.
